NOTE: The Christians forming the Killeen church have been meeting with the Leon Valley church in Temple TX, even though many of them live in Killeen, about 25 miles from Temple. The transitory nature of the military (Ft. Hood) has caused the area to be without a sound congregation for too many years, but now several "civilian" families have moved into the Killeen area and wish to begin this work. This new congregation is forming with the express support and blessing of the Elders at Leon Valley church in Temple. It is not the result of a division over doctrinal issues or personal conflicts. It is solely the result of growth and need for evangelism and edification in a neighboring locale. It will be composed of faithful Christians from Killeen, Harker Heights, Fort Hood, Copperas Cove, and surrounding communities.
